In the heart of Galloway, where rolling hills whisper secrets of ancient paths and Galloway walks beckon adventurers, I continue my passion for the great outdoors, which originated years ago in the Cumbrian Lake District.
Born in the Debatable Lands of the Borders, I have spent a lifetime exploring trails that have woven through my heart and soul and made me who I am today.
Yet, after all my travels and time away, home was calling to me and I returned to live in the land of my ancestors. Galloway has captured my spirit, inspiring me to share its marvels with others.
From my personal experiences, I understand how daunting it can be to navigate unfamiliar terrain, and whilst walking solo can be the best therapy for some, others are hesitant to venture out alone and prefer having company in the great outdoors.
For individuals on holiday or locals seeking new experiences, I want you to have the opportunity to confidently explore the beauty of Galloway, free from anxiety about finding the next turn in the trail or missing that all-important field gate or stile. Even experienced walkers can find themselves lost in the vast selection of trails, unsure where to start, and how best to spend their valuable time.
Walk Galloway with Shirley G was born.
Thus, "Walk Galloway with Shirley G. " was born, an idea that blossomed into reality. Combining my local knowledge of paths & trails, along with my formal qualifications as a Galloway & South Ayrshire Biosphere Guide, Lowland Leader, and Hill & Moorland Leader, I have carefully selected guided walks that showcase some of Galloway’s treasures and where participants can explore the beauty of Galloway safely and joyfully.
My Scheduled Group Walks start at 9 a.m. and aim to end by 1 p.m., thereby catering to even the busiest of schedules. Visitors will have time to enjoy lunch at a local venue or visit other attractions in the vicinity of the walk after their morning adventure.

By sharing my skills and experience, I hope to become a bridge that enables others to discover the wild beauty of Galloway and instil confidence in those who had once hesitated to explore on their own.
