Booking & Payments

Payment for all walks, whether a Group Scheduled Walk or a Bespoke & Tailored Walk, must be paid for in full at the time of booking. Payment will be accepted by Bank Transfer. Your booking is considered to be confirmed only when payment is received.

Changes and Cancellation of a Walk or Event

Walk Galloway with Shirley G reserves the right to cancel, postpone or offer an alternative walk/event if deemed necessary for the safety of participants; for example, due to severe weather.

If Walk Galloway with Shirley G cancels an event completely, you may choose to move your booking to an alternative date for the same walk/event if available or receive a full refund. You may also choose to transfer your booking to a different walk/event, if available, upon payment of any difference in cost between the cancelled walk/event and the new booking. 

Walk Galloway with Shirley G is not liable and will not reimburse for any travel, accommodation, equipment or other costs as a result of cancellation or postponement of a walk/event, or the removal of an individual or individuals from a walk/event.

If you decide to cancel a booking for a walk/event due to weather conditions, no refund will be given.

Where you decide to cancel a booking for a walk/event more than 7 days prior to the walk/event, a full refund, less an administration fee of £5 per person to cover admin & processing costs, will be given. 

Where you decide to cancel a booking for a walk/event less than 7 days before the walk/event (e.g. you cancel before 11.59 p.m. on a Friday for a walk the following Saturday), no refund will be given. 

Risk & Liability - Participation Statement

Walk participants must be 12 years or older on the day of the walk. Participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult. 

No dogs will be allowed on any walks/events. 

By booking a walk/event with Walk Galloway with Shirley G, you are attesting that you and each person in your party that you have booked for is both physically and medically fit to participate in the walk/event and will be adequately equipped to do so. However in any case, Walk Galloway with Shirley G reserves the right to remove a person from a walk/event prior to the start of that walk/event for any reason which they consider may impact the safety of that individual, the walk leader or the safety and enjoyment of the walk/event of other participants in that walk/event. If Walk Galloway with Shirley G removes an individual from a walk/event a full refund will be given to that individual.

You acknowledge that outdoor activities, including walking, are activities with a risk of personal injury or death. Walk Galloway with Shirley G takes all reasonable precautions to ensure the safety and well-being of participants in their walks/events. However, participants in these activities should be aware of and accept these risks and be responsible for their own actions and involvement. Walk Galloway with Shirley G is not responsible for any loss or damage to your personal effects, equipment or vehicles whilst participating in a walk/event.

Complaints Procedure

If you have a concern about your walk/event, you should make your concerns known to your walk/event leader at the earliest opportunity.  Should you feel it necessary to make a formal complaint to Walk Galloway with Shirley G, please do so in writing within 14 days of the date of your walk/event.  Walk Galloway with Shirley G will endeavour to respond to you within 5 working days.
