Clints of Dromore Walk

28 July 2025. Circular walk, app. 4 miles, taking in Clints of Dromore ridge.

Clints of Dromore Walk

Clints of Dromore is a circular walk beginning and ending at the Cairnsmore of Fleet NNR Visitor Centre near Gatehouse of Fleet.

Approx. 4 miles, 780 feet of ascent, taking in the Clints of Dromore ridge.

After a short but steep ascent onto the ridge, enjoy open moorland walking along the ridge, with the opportunity of extensive views in all directions.

You’ll have the opportunity to see 4 of the 5 outdoor sculptures created by Matt Baker along the trail. Expect some rough boggy ground on the ridge, and at this time of year, high bracken on the lower slopes.

Guided Walk Testimonials

I have been on many walks with Shirley in all sorts of terrains and weathers, and have always felt very safe and confident in her abilities as a walk leader. She is very organised, knowledgeable and professional, and also good company.

Having completed several long-distance footpaths with Shirley, I am always impressed and reassured by how prepared she is for any eventuality. I have every confidence in Shirley’s leadership qualities, which also make for an enjoyable walking experience.
